Welcome to our web site.  I hope you find it easy to navigate.  We have several ministries and programs which you may find helpful and refreshing.  God is truly alive and active in our church.  We invite you to sample some of the things God is doing at First Church Mt. Vernon by spending some time on this web site. 

We also invite you to join us for worship on Sunday morning.  We offer two morning services; one at 8:30 and the other at 11:00.  Each service has its own personality with the early service being a bit more casual than the late service.  

You are invited to join one of our Sunday morning adult education classes.  We also have youth and children’s Sunday School classes and a nursery for your youngest children. All classes begin at 9:45.

When you come to visit you can expect to find committed Christians whose story defines us as Christians.  It is a story of the Good News of Jesus Christ.  It is a story that urges and enables us to take risks for his Kingdom, to ask questions, and search for answers.  It is a message of deliverance and invitation to others.  We are a family that has a profound faith but we are still reaching for “more.”  Please come join us as we walk this pathway of life together embraced by the loving grace of our Lord and Savior.
